Thanksgiving Charity Event 2019
November 25, 2019 | 6:00pm - 8:00pm
SECOND ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER FOR HOMELESS AND FOOD INSECURE PERSONS OF WACO
Last year, thanks to the help of volunteers and donations from Clay Pot customers, co-owners Thanh and Phong Le provided their first Thanksgiving meal for a group of homeless and food-insecure persons at Clay Pot Restaurant. The event was a success. Continuing their efforts to give back to the community, Thanh and Phong are expanding and upgrading their commitment to the food-insecure, and to local food producers.
Clay Pot LLC is now a member of Heart of Texas Urban Gardening Coalition (“UGC”), an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization 100% staffed by volunteers. UGC is interested in urban agriculture and food security issues. In preparation for making the Thanksgiving meal an annual event, Clay Pot LLC is engaged in a fund-raising campaign for UGC’s Thanksgiving Charity Event Fund. Your tax-deductible donation to this UGC fund will be used to finance the Clay Pot annual Thanksgiving meal, which will be prepared with produce and poultry purchased — as much as possible — from local producers.
UGC strives to comply fully with reporting requirements promulgated by the Financial Accounting Standards Board rules for 501(c)(3) organizations. Any interested party may, upon reasonable notice, inspect the books and records. A full accounting will be provided and posted at Clay Pot Restaurant following the 2019 Thanksgiving dinner.
Most of us have been blessed with enough of the material things, to live an abundant life. But there are among us less fortunate souls who struggle daily to get by. We hope to reach out to them so they will know that many people care about their predicament, and so they will feel loved, at least on this occasion. You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to “Thanksgiving Charity Event.”
